No. I haven't noticed. What I've noticed is that when I'm very blue I can't blog. Sometimes I make myself and then the blog is disastrous and I wish I hadn't written it. This led to a temporary deletion of the entire blog a few weeks ago, promptly followed by very nice people telling me I'd made a mistake. Which is why I'm now putting it all back up again... very very slowly.
People say that my blog was more energetic (I think they mean 'better' but are too polite to say) when I was in Luanda. Although they may be right, I think this is also to do with Westerners' preference for waht they see as the exotic. They liked hearing about 'other' and are less interested on observations on themselves. Like a good egotistical blogger, you see, I blame the reader!

i have this idea that once its up its up - but we shall wait until i have written some bit of contagion that will simply undermine other people's days - then maybe it will be delete-time.

I often have a very different tone to what i say online to what I'm like in person -- and often the tone is determined more by what random topic I chose to write about. There's also lots of different levels of formality and informality that writing can take: I often sound a bit more pompous on teh internets EVEN MORE SO THAN IN REAL LIFE.
